Why blue states?
Trump’s second term isn’t theoretical—it’s happening. ICE is disappearing students. Rights are being stripped. Communities are under attack.
But state governments—especially blue state trifectas—have real power. When Democrats control the governorship and both chambers of the legislature, they can act fast and boldly to block, blunt, and beat back Trump’s most dangerous moves. They can sue. They can pass laws. They can create safe zones and legal shields. And they can lead by example.
That’s why this campaign focuses on 15 Democratic trifectas (more on that below!)—states where there’s no excuse for inaction. In some cases, we’re also calling on bold Democratic attorneys general in non-trifecta states to use every tool available to defend people and push back on federal overreach.
This campaign exists to force action, amplify resistance, and make sure the bluest states in the country show up when it counts most—right now.

Full Democratic trifecta
Not a trifecta, but Democratic Attorney General
The States
In 2025, there are 15 states with full Democratic trifectas—meaning Democrats control the governorship and both state legislative chambers. These states can move quickly and boldly to protect people and push back on Trump’s agenda. That’s where we’re focusing the bulk of our organizing.
For specific asks where it’s strategic, we’re also organizing in 8 additional states where Democrats don’t control the full state government but have a Democratic Attorney General. These AGs can still take powerful action, like suing the federal government, investigating ICE abuses, or issuing legal guidance to schools and hospitals.
Wherever Democrats hold power—whether it’s the governor’s office, the legislature, or the attorney general’s seat—we’re demanding they use it. Now.
